Why Become a Dental Assistant?

Dental Assistants are in very high demand.  This occupation is growing much faster than others. With the ongoing research with your oral health and general health there is an increase of preventive dental services.  There will always be a need for quality dental assistants.  This is a high paced career with new challenges every day.  If you are an enthusiastic person, have a willingness to learn, and a love for dentistry this career is for YOU!  When entering the dental field as a dental assistant you have many more opportunities for growth into other areas of dentistry. 

*Many dental assistants will continue their education and training into becoming a:

Certified Dental Assistant (CDA)

Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA)

Dental Lab technician

Dental Hygientist (RDH)

Dental Administrator or Office Manager

Dentist (DMD)

Dental Sale Representative

What skills will you learn with us in 13 weeks?
 

3D scanning

Proper charting

Dental terminolgoy

Infection control and sterilization

Prepare the dental operatory for dental procedures

An understanding of HIPAA and OSHA regulations

Identify dental instrumentation

Perform dental radiographs (xrays)

Patient education and home care

Compare and contrast multiple dental specialties


 

Post graduation obtainable certifications

Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) certification with DANB 
(RHS cost is included in tuition)
Certified Dental Assistant with DANB
(CDA certification is NOT included in tuition and can be obtained after working 3500 hours as a dental assistant in a dental practice)
